Senior Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Days)

Salary: £53,000 per annum

A leading FMCG food manufacturer is recruiting for a Senior Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team at a modern, high-care production facility in Suffolk.This is a hands‑on senior engineering role, suited to an experienced multi‑skilled engineer who enjoys fault‑finding, improving asset reliability, and supporting site‑wide engineering standards within a regulated food manufacturing environment.

The Role

• Planned preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance across site assets
• Electrical and mechanical fault‑finding, including PLC‑controlled systems
• Supporting equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects
• Use of CMMS systems to manage PPMs, breakdowns, and maintenance records
• Supporting food safety, hygiene, and health & safety compliance (BRC environment)
• Liaising with contractors and supporting engineering projects

What Were Looking For

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi‑Skilled Engineering
• Proven experience in FMCG or food manufacturing
• Strong fault‑finding ability across electrical and mechanical systems
• Experience with PLCs, control systems, pneumatics, and heavy machinery
• Familiarity with planned maintenance systems and CMMS
• Comfortable working in a high‑care, regulated environment
• 18th Edition, food safety, IOSHH, or similar qualifications are advantageous but not essential
