The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced GSE Technician to join a high-performing engineering team at Heathrow Airport.

This role offers the chance to work in one of the UK’s busiest and most dynamic airport environments, maintaining and repairing a wide range of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) essential to aircraft operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of GSE, including:
  • Aircraft tow tractors
  • Ground power units (GPU)
  • Air start and air conditioning units
  • Baggage and cargo handling equipment
• Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs)
• Respond to breakdowns and operational call-outs across the airfield
• Ensure all work is completed in line with HSE and aviation compliance standards
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities

What We’re Looking For

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering / Vehicle Maintenance
• Experience working on:
  • GSE, HGVs, plant equipment, or similar heavy machinery
• Strong fault-finding ability across:
  • Diesel engines
  • Hydraulics
  • Electrical systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical airport environment
• Full UK driving licence (C1 or HGV licence advantageous)

Shift Pattern

• Rotating shifts (early / late / nights depending on operation)
• Overtime opportunities available
