Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and high-quality Maths Teacher to join its successful Mathematics department from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Maths teacher who is looking to work within a supportive and ambitious secondary school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, adapting teaching to meet the needs and abilities of all learners.
  • Teach engaging lessons that develop students’ mathematical knowledge, problem-solving skills and confidence.
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations, ensuring strong subject knowledge and exam technique.
  • Differentiate lessons appropriately for students of varying abilities, including high-achieving pupils and those requiring additional support.
  • Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, identify gaps in knowledge and inform future teaching.
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour, effort and academic achievement.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students are encouraged to participate and achieve their potential.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Maths department to develop schemes of work, resources and teaching strategies.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and contribute to assessment and reporting processes.
  • Support students with their wider academic development and encourage a positive attitude towards Mathematics.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and departmental initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Maths Teacher will:

  • Have QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and relevant secondary school teaching experience.
  • Have strong subject knowledge across the secondary Maths curriculum.
  • Have experience teaching KS3 and GCSE Maths.
  • Be passionate about Mathematics and committed to raising student achievement.
  • Have excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Have high expectations and a commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
  • Be enthusiastic, reliable and committed to contributing positively to the school community.
