About the RoleWe’re recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established manufacturing team, working on the mechanical assembly of specialist industrial machinery, including nibblers, sifters and related equipment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer specifications are consistently met.
Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out mechanical assembly of machines in line with the factory production planInspect in-house and bought-in components to ensure they meet required specification and qualityLay out and examine metal stock/work pieces to confirm specifications are correctPosition, align and fit components to form complete units and subunits, following engineering drawings and layout specificationsVerify conformance of work pieces using vibration meters, temperature probes, earth continuity meters, squares, rulers and measuring tapesComplete all documentation accuratelyProvide occasional training/support to less experienced operatorsSupport continuous improvement and the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management system, including internal audits, NCRs, OFIs and customer complaintsMaintain a safe, clean and organised working environment, reporting any safety concerns promptlyAttend production and Health & Safety meetings as requiredOccasional site work as required
