Novara People are recruiting for an experienced Electrical / M&E Installation Engineer to join a specialist engineering business installing ventilation systems across London and the South of England.

This is a hands-on, site-based position involving regular travel to different customer sites. You’ll work alongside a small engineering team, carrying out electrical and mechanical installations and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and to a high standard.
We’re looking for someone with a strong electrical background who is comfortable working independently on site, dealing with contractors and taking responsibility for getting the job completed properly.
There is plenty of opportunity to develop within the business, with training provided on their specialist ventilation systems.
DutiesInstallation of specialist electrical and mechanical ventilation systemsWorking across various sites throughout London and the South of EnglandCarrying out electrical installation works to required standardsSupporting mechanical installation works where requiredReading and working from drawings and specificationsTesting and commissioning systems following installationFault finding and resolving issues on siteControl panel wiring where requiredWorking closely with Project Managers throughout each projectProviding regular progress updates by phone, email and face-to-faceLiaising professionally with Main Contractors and M&E Contractors on siteEnsuring installations are completed to specification and programmeMaintaining high standards of workmanship and health & safetySupporting and supervising labourers or apprentices where required
Skills Required
Previous experience working as an Electrician, Electrical Engineer, M&E Engineer or Installation EngineerExperience carrying out electrical installations on commercial or construction sitesAble to work confidently from drawings and specificationsMechanical installation experience would be beneficialVentilation, HVAC or M&E experience would be advantageousControl panel wiring and fault-finding experience would be an advantageComfortable testing and commissioning xwwtmva installationsGood fault-finding and problem-solving skillsAble to work independently and as part of a small site teamExperience supervising labourers or apprentices would be beneficialConfident dealing directly with Main Contractors and M&E ContractorsGood communication and organisational skillsWilling and able to travel regularly across London and the South of EnglandProfessional, reliable and self-motivated

NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification or equivalent17th or 18th EditionValid ECS or CSCS cardCity & Guilds 2391 preferred but not essentialSSSTS or SMSTS required for the Supervisor positionFull UK Driving Licence preferred due to the travel involved…
