Java Developer – Trading Systems

Salary: £100,000 – 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong backend, multithreaded Java development experience
• Strong knowledge of financial markets and previous experience working on trading systems
• Good understanding of real-time system development and latency
• Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude
• Collaborative and pragmatic with client-facing communication skills
• Naturally curious with advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• An understanding of C++ would be beneficial but is not essential
• Minimum 2.1 BSc in Computer Science or a similar technical discipline from a top-tier / Russell Group university, backed by As at A-level

Responsibilities:

• Play a key role in a new client engagement to transform a highly complex C++ legacy trading system into a modern Java-based application
• Collaborate with Front Office trading teams, software engineers, and product teams
• Deliver robust, secure, real-time trading systems using Java and Claude
