The Role* We are currently recruiting for a Product Support Engineer – HVAC to join an established team working across the UK rail industry.* This is a hands-on role focused on the maintenance, fault finding, servicing and repair of HVAC systems across a range of rolling stock.* You will work on a variety of rail vehicles and projects, including Class 158s, Class 174s, Mark 4s and other rolling stock.* The role involves extensive UK-wide travel, with a significant amount of lodging away from home.* The standard working week is 40 hours, with excellent opportunities for overtime. Engineers are currently averaging around 10 hours of overtime per week.
Key Responsibilities* Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on rolling stock HVAC systems* Fault finding and diagnosing HVAC issues* Servicing, repairing and replacing HVAC components* Carrying out modifications and maintenance work on rail vehicles* Working safely and efficiently at customer sites across the UK* Completing maintenance documentation and reports* Supporting a variety of rolling stock projects
About You* We are looking for an experienced HVAC Engineer with previous hands-on experience working with HVAC systems.* Essential:o Previous HVAC engineering experienceo Strong fault-finding and maintenance skillso Willingness to travel extensively across the UK & Irelando Full UK driving licence* Desirable:o Previous rolling stock experienceo Level 3 qualification in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplineo Experience working on rail HVAC systemso Experience with train air conditioning and heating systemso Previous maintenance experience within a transport, rail or heavy engineering environment
