Overview
An established food manufacturing business in County Monaghan is looking to appoint a Maintenance Manager to lead engineering standards across its production operation. This is a senior appointment reporting to the Head of Engineering, with real scope to shape how maintenance is delivered site-wide.
Day to day, you’ll drive asset management best practice, standardise engineering systems across multiple production lines, and build out a preventive maintenance approach that reduces downtime and protects output. It’s a hands-on leadership role within a business that takes continuous improvement seriously.
Responsibilities
- Lead the maintenance function’s daily operations, keeping equipment, facilities and systems running at full efficiency
- Own and control the engineering department’s budget, including spare parts spend
- Plan and prioritise repair and maintenance schedules to minimise disruption to production
- Coach, develop and identify training needs across the maintenance team
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and strong working standards
- Partner with production and other departments to keep operations running smoothly
- Oversee contractor performance for safety, quality and value for money
- Support new product and process integration from an engineering perspective
- Ensure full compliance with company, Health & Safety, food safety and environmental requirements
- Report on and maintain site and central engineering KPIs
Criteria
- Proven senior leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in engineering gained in a manufacturing or process setting
- Solid knowledge of site utilities, services and infrastructure
- Level 3 electrical or mechanical qualification
- Self-motivated, organised, and a strong communicator with proven people leadership skills
