The Role

n

Reporting to the Accountant, the Assistant Accountant will support the finance team in delivering accurate financial information and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations.

n

n

Key Responsibilities

n

    n

  • Process, verify and prepare supplier invoices for payment, resolving discrepancies where required
  • n

  • Raise customer invoices and work closely with internal teams to resolve billing queries
  • n

  • Process employee expenses and manage petty cash transactions
  • n

  • Complete customer and supplier statement reconciliations
  • n

  • Monitor and review aged creditor and debtor balances, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items
  • n

  • Produce and analyse sales reporting, supporting forecasting and decision making
  • n

  • Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments
  • n

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • n

  • Support intercompany reporting and reconciliations across group entities
  • n

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs
  • n

  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals and periodic reviews
  • n

  • Manage the finance inbox and respond to internal and external queries in a timely manner
  • n

  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement and finance transformation initiatives
  • n

The Candidate

You will ideally have:

n

    n

  • Previous experience working within a finance or accounting function
  • n

  • A good understanding of accounting principles, including profit and loss and balance sheet reporting
  • n

  • Experience preparing reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
  • n

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • n

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • n

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with a range of stakeholders
  • n

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • n

n
