Location: Portsmouth (BroadOak) or Frimley, Filton, Dorchester, hybrid – 3 days on site – thisrole will require routine travel to other southern BAE sites withinUK and occasionally internationally.

What you’ll bedoing:
As a Senior Mission SystemArchitect (Network & Data Communications), you will lead the design and assurance ofnetwork-centric mission system architectures that enableinformation exchange across complex, dynamic anddisaggregated maritime environments. You will define secure,resilient and interoperable communications and data strategies thatsupport Hybrid Navy objectives and force-level operations.Collaborating with customers, programmes, suppliers and industrypartners, you will influence architectural direction, establishtechnical standards and ensure future-ready solutions are alignedwith operational requirements. Your work will help deliverconnected, data-driven mission capabilities across current andfuture increasingly autonomous maritimeplatforms
Coreduties:
- Lead networkand data communications architecture strategy.
- Define resilient, secure and interoperable communicationsand networking solutions.
- Establish datamodels, protocols and integration standards.
- Embed cyber security and assurance within architecturaldesigns.
- Champion open architectures,interfaces and digital engineering methodologies.
- Influence customers and stakeholders on network-enabledcapability development.
Essential skills:
- A degree in Engineering (or a relatedsubject)
- Full membership of an appropriateengineering institution and be a Chartered Engineer (or actively workingtowards).
- Extensive experience in defencenetworking, communications and system-of-systemsarchitecture.
- Strong expertise in data architectures,cyber security and digital engineering
