Costs Lawyer 9 month FTC

Our client, is a global law firm with a strong presence in London. They are seeking an experienced Costs Lawyer to join their team on a fixed-term contract basis for nine months. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex costs matters within a respected legal environment, bringing specialist expertise to support the firm’s caseload and client delivery.

• Specialise in costs law, handling assessment, negotiation, and dispute resolution across a range of matters
• Nine-month fixed-term contract with the flexibility of a defined engagement period
• Work within a collaborative team at a leading international law firm in central London

Preferred Requirements

• Proven expertise in costs law, including detailed knowledge of costs assessment and recovery principles
• Experience preparing and defending costs budgets, schedules of costs, and detailed assessments
• Strong understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and costs practice directions
• Ability to advise clients on costs implications and cost-effective litigation strategies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present costs arguments clearly and persuasively

Preferred Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with current practising rights in England and Wales
• Specialist costs law qualification or accreditation (e.g. CEDR accreditation or equivalent)
• Minimum three years of post-qualification experience in costs law or litigation support
