n The Opportunity: Our client, a leading global logistics organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team based in Heywood. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-calibre AP professional to join a fast-paced, corporate environment where process improvement, automation and operational excellence are key priorities. This role will initially be offered on a minimum 6-month contract basis, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right individual.

n Key Responsibilities
n
- n
- Manage the full end-to-end Accounts Payable process across a high-volume, multi-entity environment.
- Oversee supplier invoice processing, coding, matching and payment runs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for complex supplier queries and escalations, ensuring timely resolution.
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate outstanding items.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers globally.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities relating to Accounts Payable.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls and audit requirements.
- Identify process improvements and support finance transformation initiatives.
- Assist in the implementation and optimisation of AP automation tools and system enhancements.
- Produce reporting and analysis relating to AP performance, aged creditors and payment cycles.
- Support and mentor junior members of the AP function where required.

- Significant experience within a Senior Accounts Payable position.
- Expert knowledge of end-to-end Accounts Payable processes.
- Experience handling high volumes of supplier accounts and complex supplier queries.
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience working within large corporate or multinational organisations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.

- Experience working with multiple finance systems and ERP platforms.
- Strong understanding of AP automation processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and technologies.

- Experience within logistics, supply chain or other fast-paced operational environments.
- Exposure to finance transformation projects.
- Knowledge of shared service centre environments.
