JobDescription:
As a Hardware TeamLeader, you willlead a team of highlyskilled and experienced hardware engineers responsible for thesupport to our production programs within products such as HelmetMounted & Head-Up Displays, Mission Computers, Flight Controls, Active Inceptors and otherassociated safety critical technology.
Core duties:
- Providing managerial and technicalleadership of an electronics design team
- Managing work packages, cost, schedule, risk andopportunities.
- Workingwith production teams to ensure the engineering team is supportingthe production program demand
- Providingtechnical governance and ensuring adherence to companyprocesses
- Leading cost and performancetrade-offs as well as driving continuous improvement
- Reporting status of tasks andtechnical maturity to project management
Working closely with the functionalmanagement to review resourcing needs
EssentialSkills:
- Ability to demonstrate highperformance and achievement in leadership and management ofengineering teams through a full product developmentlifecycle
- Proven experience /knowledge of cost and planning management tools/ optimisingsolutions and minimising impacts from dependencies/ product designand work package control
- Experience of design and identifying improvements toworking practices and team skill development. Alongside root causeand target areas of improvement , focusing on failure reduction andMDBF
It is desirable you willhave experience of the Safety Critical Systems , requirementsmanagement tools, such as DOORS or work-package management tools,such as MSP, JIRA
TheHardware Team:
You will be working as part of amultidisciplinary team to formulate and optimise innovativehardware engineering solutions, for products such as Helmet Mounted& Head-Up Displays, Mission Computers, Flight Controls, ActiveInceptors, and other associated safety-criticaltechnology.
