Priory Hospital Kemple View has anopportunity for a HCPC registered principal psychologist to joinour team.
Priory Hospital Kemple View,Blackburn, Lancashire is a 90-bedded hospital providing level 2rehabilitation and secure services for adult males with mentalhealth conditions and/or personality disorders. It is accessible bypublic transport, with a local train station approximately a3-minute drive away. Due to the location of the service, access toa vehicle or the ability to drive isrecommended.
What you’ll bedoing
As a Principal Psychologist,you’ll play a key role in delivering and developing the psychologyservice within the hospital/unit. You’ll provide high-qualitypsychological input that is responsive to the individual needs,risks and presentations of patients, working as part of the widermultidisciplinary team.
You’ll beresponsible for:
- Leading thepsychology provision for a designated ward or group of patients, asagreed with the Head of Psychology.
- Undertaking comprehensive psychological assessments,formulation and evaluation to understand patients’ needs and informtheir care.
- Delivering evidence-basedpsychological interventions, both individually and in groups,tailored to patients’ presentations and care pathways.

Whatyou’ll bring to therole
Essential:HCPCregistration required
The successful candidatewill possess a confident grasp of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy andat least two additional therapeutic modalities, including one withspecific relevance to interventions used for local or equivalentdisorders. You will demonstrate a strong understanding andapplication of therapeutic principles, with a willingness toundertake further training where required. The ideal candidate willhave substantial experience working with complex clients anddelivering high-level interventions tailored to their needs,alongside formal training in clinical supervision. Additionally,they will bring solid skills and experience in assessments relevantto the environment and population served, as well as provenleadership and management capabilities.
