About theroleYou’ll be responsible for supportingand improving our automation systems, leading site projects andensuring safe, efficient operations. This is a hands-on role whereyou’ll work closely with colleagues across Engineering,Manufacturing and Technical to deliver automation solutions thatmake a real difference.

What will you bedoing?
Leadautomation and PLC support across the Ashby site, buildingfault-finding capability across allshifts
Tackle automationchallenges with confidence, including obsolescence upgrades andCAPEX projectdelivery
Collaborate withsite teams, suppliers and contractors to deliver automationprojects from concept tocompletion
Make a realimpact on automation standards, training and coaching – ensuringsafe systems and consistentprocesses
Learn and growthrough cross-functional teamwork, supporting both site-driven andcentrally driven engineeringprojects
Support 24/7emergency cover and ensure automation systems are available andsafeguarded at alltimes
Drive continuousimprovement through Intersnack Work Systems and InitiativeManagement principles
Ensurecompliance with Health and Safety, Environment and Hygienepolicies, with a focus on safe workingpractices
Manage automationdocumentation, contracts and warranties, ensuring systems are fitfor purpose and aligned with KP Snacksstandards
We’d love to hear fromyou if you can bring:
Qualifications &Background:
HNC or above in an engineering discipline,or time-served apprenticeship with strong practicalexperience
A background in automationengineering
A solid foundation in electricalengineering and controlsystems
TechnicalExperience:
Siemens (essential) and TIA Portal(desirable but not essential)
Other PLC systems such as GX Works, CXProgrammer, RockwellAutomation
MES platforms and data collectionsystems
Operational technology and energymanagementsystems
Project & CIExperience:
Providinghands-on coaching and development to wider teams in automationengineering (essential)
Demonstrated experience in projectengineering andmanagement
Involvement in maintenance and continuousimprovementprogrammes
Familiarity with quality managementsystems and legislative/food safetycompliance
Comfortable with budgeting, CapExprocesses, andprocurement
