Job Description: We are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers to join our construction team in London. As a Steel Fixer, you will play a crucial role in reinforcing and securing steel structures, ensuring the safety and stability of various construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret and understand construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Cut, bend, shape, and tie steel bars, mesh, and cables to reinforce concrete structures.
• Install steel rebar cages, beams, columns, and other steel components according to project requirements.
• Use hand and power tools to accurately position and secure steel reinforcements.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as engineers and supervisors, to ensure project specifications are met.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations on-site, promoting a safe working environment.

We offer competitive hourly rates of £23 per hour, commensurate with your skills and experience. This position provides an immediate start and offers long-term employment prospects for the right candidates.

Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine the layout and dimensions of the structure
• Perform various tasks related to ironworking, including but not limited to:
• Concrete pumping
• Renovating structures
• Installing stucco
• Trim carpentry
• Drywall installation
• Flooring installation
• Caulking
• Restoring structures
• Operate heavy machinery and equipment as required for the job
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working on-site

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Steel Fixer in the construction industry is essential.
• Must hold a valid CSCS Card (Blue Steel Fixing Card advantageous).
• Proficient in interpreting construction drawings and plans.
• Knowledge of different steel fixing techniques and methodologies.
• Familiarity with various hand and power tools used in steel fixing.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Physically fit and able to work in various weather conditions.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an ironworker or in a related field is preferred but not required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans accurately
• Proficient in various ironworking techniques and practices
• Strong physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor as required
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions effectively
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies in the field
