HGV Fitter

We are looking for an experienced and reliable HGV Fitter to join our team in Stanley, County Durham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fitter who takes pride in their work and is looking for a stable, long-term position with a busy and established company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of a range of HGV vehicles, ensuring they are kept safe, compliant and in excellent working order.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV vehicles
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
Complete inspections and preventative maintenance
Carry out brake, suspension, steering and general mechanical repairs
Prepare vehicles for MOT and safety inspections
Identify faults and complete repairs efficiently
Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard and in line with safety requirements
Maintain accurate records of work completed
Work both independently and as part of the wider team
What Were Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced in HGV maintenance and repair
Mechanically skilled with strong fault-finding ability
Reliable, hardworking and professional
Able to work independently and use their own initiative
Committed to high standards of workmanship and vehicle safety
Relevant HGV or mechanical qualifications would be advantageous, although solid practical experience is equally important.
A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would also be beneficial but is not essential.
