Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a high-quality services for adult patients delivered by the MLCO Macmillan Supportive & Palliative Care Community Service. The post holder will provide operational management, specialist practice (caseload holder) and clinical leadership for the multidisciplinary palliative care team. The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider LCO to develop palliative and end of life care services at a multi-professional level. The post holder will work locally and strategically to lead on the development, delivery and evaluation of high-quality patient centred services including a clinically appropriate education and training programme for generic staff.

- First Level NMC registration or HPCP registration
- Relevant Master’s degree or working towards
- Palliative care course
- Advanced communication skills
- Experience as an operational manager/clinical leader
- Experience of working in palliative care
- Community experience at senior level
- Experience of successfully managing the implementation of change
- Evidence of professional leadership, leading to innovation in practice
- Experience of identifying education and training needs of staff
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Experienced in budget management
- Experience in clinical audit/benchmarking
- Evidence of relevant study and continuing professional development
- Evidence of implementing and managing change to improve services or patient experience
