1:1 Reception Teaching Assistant – ASD

Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Reception

Aspire People are currently recruiting for a strong and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Reception pupil with ASD in a primary school.

The pupil is boisterous and energetic, with behaviours including climbing on furniture, and requires a confident adult who can provide clear boundaries, manage behaviour positively and keep him safe throughout the school day. The role also involves support with toileting.

The successful candidate will be a strong role model who can build a trusting, positive relationship with the pupil while encouraging engagement, independence and positive behaviour.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working in Early Years/Reception
  • Experience supporting children with ASD/additional needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A calm, confident and consistent approach
  • The ability to set clear boundaries and provide positive reinforcement
  • Experience supporting children with personal care/toileting
  • The confidence to work 1:1 with an energetic and active pupil
  • A nurturing approach with the ability to build strong relationships

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and can provide the consistency, structure and positive role modelling this pupil needs.
