Role Overview
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with their daily living activities, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing. Your contribution will directly impact the quality of life of those in our care, making this a truly rewarding position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support with mobility and transfers safely and respectfully.
- Help with meal preparation and encourage healthy eating habits.
- Administer medication in accordance with care plans and training.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation.
- Monitor and report any changes in clients’ health or behaviour to the nursing team.
- Maintain accurate records of care delivered and observe confidentiality at all times.
- Assist with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry to promote a safe and comfortable environment.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure personalised care plans are followed.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a care or support role is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Compassionate and patient approach to care.
- Good communication skills with the ability to engage positively with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and development.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
