Credit Risk Specialist

Overview

In this role you will apply credit risk expertise to private equity-backed transactions within a growing insurance solutions platform. You will advise sponsors, lenders and credit funds on bespoke insurance structures that support deal execution and provide downside protection. You will work directly with clients, insurers and underwriters to structure solutions and guide processes from initial discussions to policy placement. The position offers entrepreneurial, advisory responsibilities and a clear path to becoming a recognised specialist in transactional insurance for private capital markets.

Responsibilities

• Assess credit risk in PE-backed transactions and review financial, operational and transaction materials
• Advise private equity sponsors, lenders, credit funds and other private capital clients on insurance solutions
• Structure bespoke insurance programs to support transaction execution and manage credit exposure
• Support origination across sponsors, lenders and advisers and manage end-to-end policy placement
• Build market intelligence on credit risk, sponsor-backed transactions and financing trends
• Collaborate with clients, insurers and underwriters to deliver tailored risk mitigations
• Develop credibility and relationships with sophisticated sponsor and lender clients

Key requirements

• Strong understanding of credit risk in private equity or financial sponsors context
• Ability to analyse businesses, capital structures, leverage and transaction risks
• Credibility with financial sponsor clients, lenders and credit investors
• Excellent analytical skills and commercial judgement
• Comfort engaging with sophisticated clients and managing multi-stakeholder processes
• Prior insurance experience not required; openness to training
