Overview

In this role you drive cost control across a programme of works for a nuclear-focused client within Turner & Townsend’s Energy & Natural Resources division. You lead cost management for multiple projects or a single complex programme, delivering reliable data to inform management decisions and ensure on-time, on-cost delivery. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align budgets, forecasts, and change processes, contributing to a sustainable and high-performance project delivery culture.

Responsibilities

  • Tailor cost control approaches to client needs and align with best practice
  • Administer cost control systems to track budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts
  • Collaborate with Integrated Project Team to establish PMB and support change control
  • Develop CBS and align budgets with WBS to track actual costs
  • Map cost estimates to WBS and set budgets for WPs and control accounts
  • Adhere to NEC or FIDIC processes for cost data management and reporting
  • Lead accruals to reflect ACWP accurately and timely
  • Support change process with cost information for forecasts
  • Update forecasts for ETC and ensure cost capture requirements (WO, PO, etc.)
  • Align POs with CBS to clarify Cost Performance Indices at project level
  • Validate supply chain data for forecasting and trend analysis
  • Interact with management to deliver updates on Cost Control in a complex project/programme
  • Demonstrate leadership in developing cost control capability within the team

Key requirements

  • Professional Project Controls experience in Cost Engineering/Control across project lifecycles
  • Strong communication and leadership capabilities; ability to influence, coach and develop teams
  • BPSS clearance eligibility
  • Member of a professional body (e.g., APM, PMI)
  • Familiar with cost performance reporting and forecasting techniques
  • Experience leading Cost Control Assurance activities
  • Understanding of Scheduling, Risk Management, Reporting, Change Control as they relate to Cost Control
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Risk-based decision making with ambiguous parameters
  • Strong stakeholder management and conflict navigation
