Project Risk Manager – Energy Sector

Overview

As a Risk Manager in our Energy & Natural Resources team, you will support project risk activities across packages of varying size, ensuring risks are captured, assessed, and remediated to meet time, cost, and quality targets. You’ll drive risk processes, run workshops, and maintain risk data with senior risk managers, contributing to safer, more reliable project delivery. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to align risk management with client objectives, using analytics to inform decisions and protect project value. Responsibilities

• Plan, design and tailor risk management processes to client needs
• Facilitate risk workshops with SMEs
• Create and maintain risk registers and risk information
• Challenge risk data to ensure robustness
• Drive mitigation actions across projects/programmes
• Develop measurable management responses for post-mitigation positions
• Conduct Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) for cost/schedule impacts
• Demonstrate competency with tools (Safran, @risk, PRA)
• Produce timely risk reporting using MS Office and Power BI
• Collaborate with Project Controls to align project information
• Engage with supply chain to incorporate risk considerations

Key requirements

• Professional risk management experience across the project lifecycle
• Nuclear sector experience desirable but not required
• Ability to adapt risk strategies and clearly convey complex risk information
• Familiarity with risk tools: Safran, @risk, PRA
• Strong communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management
• Competence with risk standards such as ISO31000, APM, Orange Book, IPA
• Eligibility for BPSS security clearance
• Membership in a professional body (e.g., IRM, APM)
• Risk qualification desirable (APM Risk Certificate Level 2 or MoR)
• Experience in project controls and cross-functional collaboration
• Desire to work in the nuclear sector
