Cost Consultant (Estimators & Cost Planners)

Overview

In this role you will develop estimates and cost plans for major infrastructure projects, driving commercial strategies across the project lifecycle. You’ll work within a collaborative Estimating team to deliver reliable cost insights and benchmarks that inform decisions. You’ll engage with design and delivery stakeholders to present outputs and support project governance. Responsibilities

• Produce estimates and cost plans from overview to detailed levels
• Perform quantity take-offs using advanced software tools
• Review and assure estimates and cost plans
• Benchmark project performance to inform decisions
• Provide insights on cost performance and industry trends
• Present estimating outputs in cost reports
• Collaborate with design and delivery stakeholders
• Participate in CPD events to maintain technical proficiency

Key requirements

• Experience in Estimation, Cost Management, or Quantity Surveying in the Infrastructure sector (desirable)
• Experience on significant infrastructure projects/programmes (desirable)
• HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management or related discipline (ideally)
• Time-served or engineering background acceptable
• Professional qualifications/membership in RICS, ACOSTE, CICES, CIOB or similar (desirable)
