Overview

As a Consultant in our Ireland/European Advisory Cost Assurance team, you will help scrutinise incurred costs and drive supply chain efficiency on major programmes. You’ll support senior colleagues in delivering assurance reviews and strengthening client relationships. You’ll mentor junior colleagues, contribute to bids, and help refine service line training and product management. This role combines technical contract understanding with data-driven insights to improve project outcomes. Responsibilities

• Lead and assist assurance reviews on major construction projects to verify contractual compliance and control effectiveness
• Identify risks and opportunities and provide practical recommendations to improve outcomes
• Analyse complex contracts (NEC3/4/ICE Bespoke) and support governance alignment
• Perform data testing using visualization and trend analysis tools (PowerBI/Tableau) to derive insights
• Produce concise written findings and recommendations for clients
• Review client-facing outputs and provide constructive feedback
• Foster trust-based relationships with clients and project teams
• Engage supply chains to promote collaboration and assurance adoption
• Assess client commercial controls, contract administration, and decision processes against best practice
• Support reviews of variations, claims, forecasting, risk allocation, and commercial performance to strengthen controls

Key requirements

• Experience in assurance or audit within construction, commercial, or accounting settings
• Knowledge of procurement routes, disallowed costs, target price setting, and pain/gain calculations
• Experience with NEC3/4 contract management (Option C, E) preferred
• Ability to assess cost accuracy and entitlement
• Change management and forecast control
• Data analysis and the ability to derive insights from large data sets (PowerBI/Tableau preferred)
• Clear report writing to convey complex messages succinctly
• People and organizational management experience in a team with fluctuating workloads
• Strong presentation skills and stakeholder influencing ability
