Regional Director – Fire Engineering

Overview

In this role you lead a UK fire engineering team within a multidisciplinary design consultancy. You’ll ensure delivery of large, complex projects to regulatory and client standards while growing the fire engineering capability. You collaborate with national leadership and other disciplines to maintain quality, schedule, and budget. You will shape professional development, mentor staff toward chartership, and strengthen client relationships. Responsibilities

• Lead workload planning, project delivery and performance for the fire engineering team.
• Oversee delivery of large, complex projects to regulatory requirements and client expectations.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams and national leadership to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and high quality.
• Lead Performance & Review by setting SMART goals and conducting staff appraisals.
• Mentor and develop staff, supporting PDPs and chartership progression.
• Provide specialized technical input across the portfolio of studies and designs.
• Support business development by managing client relationships and attracting new work.
• Manage project budgets and schedules for mid-to-large projects, including national and international scope.
• Lead technical leadership roles such as Approved Lead Verifier and Approved Project Manager.
• Promote health & safety policy adherence and strong client relationships to support growth.

Key requirements

• Experience in UK fire engineering projects
• Experience in a large multi-disciplinary environment
• Knowledge of UK guidance (ADB, BS 9991/9999/9992, HTM 05-02, BB100)
• Proficiency with fire engineering tools (FDS, SFE, evacuation modelling)
• Membership in professional institutions (MIFireE) or NFPA certifications (CFPE)
