Principal Electrical Engineer – Water Sector

Overview

In this role, you will provide technical leadership for major water and wastewater EICA projects, guiding design from concept through construction. You will oversee quality, governance and documentation, while nurturing client relationships and mentoring engineers. You’ll contribute to bids and framework opportunities, driving best practice and continuous improvement. This position offers impact on national water infrastructure and the chance to shape the Electrical Engineering discipline within a leading multidisciplinary firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and EICA design from feasibility to detailed design and construction support
• Provide technical oversight, governance and quality assurance across project delivery
• Review and approve electrical design documents, calculations and specifications
• Build strong client, contractor and multi-disciplinary team relationships
• Mentor engineers, support business growth and contribute to bids and framework opportunities
• Champion engineering best practice and continuous improvement across the discipline

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or equivalent experience
• Significant experience delivering electrical or EICA design in water or similar infrastructure
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering projects
• Strong understanding of electrical standards, governance and QA
• Excellent client relationship, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience mentoring and developing engineering teams
