Agile Team Lead (Healthcare)

Overview

As a Team Lead at Kainos, you will guide an agile team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client needs and user expectations. You’ll foster a positive, creative culture while removing blockers and managing risks at the team level, in coordination with Delivery Managers and stakeholders. You’ll contribute to management capability and broader leadership beyond the agile team. The role blends hands-on delivery with coaching and stakeholder engagement in a client-facing, consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Establish ways of working for an agile team to plan, forecast and deliver from the product backlog
• Model collaborative behaviours, agile values and professionalism
• Lead retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage, coach and develop a small team, focusing on performance
• Provide data, forecasts and progress updates for planning
• Facilitate workshops to capture requirements and align on needs
• Build constructive relationships with client, suppliers and third-party stakeholders
• Ensure access to current delivery data and adherence to technical quality standards
• Support Delivery Manager to deliver projects within budget

Key requirements

• SC clearance eligibility
• Minimum 3 years in a similar role (preferably with UK healthcare)
• Minimum 3 years delivering bespoke software projects for external customers using agile methods
• Strong experience in customer-facing projects including reporting, workshops and presentations
• Strong commercial awareness
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• High flexibility and willingness to travel or work remotely when required
• Experience in a consulting environment (must-have)
