Research Associate

Overview

In this role you support production, QC, and assembly for the Cambridge Conjugation, Kits, and Accessories portfolio. You perform ELISA testing, antibody conjugation, and related assays to deliver accurate results while upholding quality standards. You monitor assay performance and support continuous improvement and data integrity in a lab-based setting. You work with cross-functional teams to ensure customer-ready products and timely delivery, contributing to Abcam’s mission to advance life sciences.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacture, assembly and QC of products across the Cambridge Conjugation, Kits, and Accessories portfolio
• Perform Direct and Sandwich ELISA quality control assays and lateral flow assays
• Carry out assay trend analysis to monitor performance and identify deviations
• Maintain records using Batch Manufacturing Records, lab notebooks, and Oracle ERP
• Support continuous improvement of manufacturing processes
• Maintain accurate inventory records for materials and finished goods
• Adhere to SOPs and ISO9001:2015 standards
• Work on-site as part of a full-time lab team in Cambridge, UK

Key requirements

• Life Sciences degree (or equivalent) with hands-on laboratory experience
• Pipetting and liquid handling, reagent and buffer preparation, sample handling, data recording
• Familiarity with GLP, COSHH regulations, and SOPs (desirable)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Effective communicator and collaborative team player, able to work independently
