Electrical Design Engineer

Overview

As an Electrical Design Engineer at RSE, you lead the electrical, instrumentation and control design across water-treatment projects. You will work within an in-house, multidisciplinary team to scope, design, and implement solutions for legacy and newbuild plants, MEICA upgrades, and MCC/PLC systems. You’ll collaborate across engineering disciplines, contribute to safety studies, and mentor the next generation of EICA engineers. This role offers hands-on impact in a market-leading, low-carbon MEICA business with strong growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical and instrumentation/control concept and detailed designs
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
• Participate in safety studies (Hazop) and related activities
• Lead EICA engineering input and review of MCC, PLC, and instrumentation solutions from suppliers
• Collaborate with construction and commissioning teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Mentor and develop future EICA engineering talent

Key requirements

• Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge of British and European design standards
• Driving License
• Proven track record as a Trainee/Assistant Electrical Engineer or completion of a Graduate Training programme in design and construction within water/related process industries
