Overview
You will contribute to a fundamental equities team focused on healthcare, building and testing investment theses across subsectors. In partnership with the Senior Healthcare Analyst, you will translate complex data into investable views and progressively assume broader coverage. You’ll develop rigorous models and support earnings and event-driven analysis to identify catalysts and risks. The role offers exposure to multiple healthcare domains and a path toward independent, evidence-based investment judgement.
Responsibilities
- Build and refine valuation and forecasting models (DCF, sum-of-parts, relative valuation)
- Analyze quarterly results, regulatory decisions, reimbursement changes, M&A activity, and competitive dynamics
- Conduct primary/secondary research including meetings with management, experts, and literature reviews
- Identify implications of new information for earnings, valuation, market expectations, catalysts, and investment theses
- Prepare concise earnings notes, research updates, meeting summaries, and investment memoranda
- Generate differentiated investment ideas with the Senior Healthcare Analyst and broader team
- Contribute to healthcare universe coverage while deepening expertise in select companies/subsectors
Key requirements
- Typically 2–5 years of relevant healthcare equity research or analytically rigorous healthcare-focused experience
- Direct buy-side or sell-side research experience strongly preferred
- Strong financial modelling and valuation skills with ability to present a credible investment case
- Ability to synthesize clinical, regulatory, commercial, competitive, and financial data into an investable view
- Intellectual curiosity, sound judgement, attention to detail, and openness to revise views
- Genuine interest in healthcare investing and challenging consensus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear investment views
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (life sciences, medicine, engineering, economics, or finance)
- Progress towards CFA or advanced finance/clinical/scientific qualification is advantageous but not required
