Electrical Technical Support

Overview

In this role you provide engineering support to the Infrastructure Compliance Engineering team, focused on plant reliability, configuration control, and specialised technical matters. You will help plan and execute maintenance with a strong safety and regulatory base, delivering fit-for-purpose solutions that meet organisational objectives. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and share learnings across facilities. The opportunity combines hands-on engineering with process governance in a pioneering nuclear environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop pragmatic engineering solutions that meet cost and performance objectives
• Support maintenance by upholding the technical basis of maintenance (TBoM) and plan complex activities
• Ensure all maintenance tasks are clearly briefed, understood, and performed safely and on schedule
• Comply with safety, quality, risk, and security procedures and site regulations
• Assist in producing PMP documents and present at committees
• Support installation, modification and commissioning of equipment, identifying plant/process improvements
• Create Safe Systems of Work for maintenance or breakdown tasks
• Attend forums to keep up with best practices and share learnings across facilities

Key requirements

• Degree in Electrical or HND in an equivalent discipline
• Strong communication skills with customers, suppliers and stakeholders
• Demonstrable conservative decision making under pressure
• Knowledge of operational and maintenance requirements
• Self-motivation, drive, energy, and resilience
• Ability to interface technically with Design and Capability teams
• Must be able to become Safety Supervisor
• Must become PMP Manager
• Must become Sub Contractor Supervisor
• Ability to obtain DV level security clearance (identity, employment, financial, criminal record checks, 10 years of UK residency)
