Security Compliance Engineer

Overview

As a Security Compliance Engineer at eBay, you lead audits and assessments to strengthen security practices across a global business. You collaborate with leaders and cross-functional teams to balance compliance with business needs and drive remediation programs. You contribute to the evolution of our security compliance program by applying industry guidelines and process improvements. You play a key role in protecting user data by implementing effective controls and facilitating broad adoption across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead security compliance audits and assessments, identify gaps, and drive remediation
• Collaborate with business leaders and cross-functional teams to balance compliance with business priorities
• Develop and implement remediation programs to address non-compliant areas
• Provide actionable insights and regular reporting to teams and senior stakeholders
• Support adoption of new security controls and standards with implementation guidance
• Evolve the security compliance program through process improvements and industry guidance
• Coordinate audit and compliance activities across teams for aligned execution

Key requirements

• 9+ years of experience in security and compliance within ecommerce, payments, or technology environments
• Familiarity with PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, or similar frameworks
• Experience managing third-party audits and coordinating evidence collection across teams
• Strong understanding of security measures, threats, and regulatory requirements in a global context
• Working knowledge of networking, encryption, authentication, cloud and application security, and payment infrastructure
• Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels in a fast-paced environment
