Overview

As Business Operations Manager for the Applied Technologies department, you coordinate and execute essential operational, administrative, and governance activities. You serve as the primary link between the department and corporate support functions to ensure processes, controls, and policies are followed. You’ll oversee procurement, supplier management, contracts, compliance, and financial coordination, driving efficiency and alignment with Ferrovial’s governance standards. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day operational and administrative activities
  • Ensure consistent application of corporate processes, systems, controls and governance
  • Act as focal point for operational coordination with corporate support functions
  • Support departmental planning, reporting and business operations
  • Monitor operational actions, commitments and deliverables
  • Maintain department records, trackers and documentation
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Support implementation of business initiatives and priorities
  • Coordinate procurement activities and purchasing requests
  • Support supplier onboarding, qualification and documentation
  • Maintain supplier records and procurement-related documentation
  • Ensure procurement activities follow corporate procedures and approvals
  • Ensure supplier compliance with corporate and client requirements
  • Track procurement actions and outstanding activities
  • Support commercial negotiations and vendor performance monitoring
  • Maintain oversight of customer, supplier and subcontractor contracts
  • Coordinate contract reviews with Legal and Procurement
  • Track contractual obligations, milestones, renewals and change orders
  • Ensure departmental compliance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Support audits and internal control activities
  • Maintain records for regulatory, client and corporate compliance
  • Coordinate submission of client certifications and supporting documentation
  • Monitor certification status and responses to documentation requests
  • Oversee logistics, equipment, shipments, facilities and office support
  • Coordinate travel and operational logistics as needed
  • Manage assets, inventories and operational resources
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cost tracking
  • Coordinate invoice validation and payment workflows
  • Assist with accruals, cost allocations and financial reporting
  • Support month-end and year-end processes
  • Provide cross-functional coordination across multiple business units

Key requirements

  • Experience in business operations, project administration, procurement coordination or similar
  • Experience with suppliers, contracts and compliance requirements
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple functions
  • Experience supporting reporting, budgeting or financial coordination processes
  • Experience in engineering, technology, construction, infrastructure or project environments
  • Experience supporting audits and governance activities
  • Experience working in large corporate organizations
