Director, Data Center Power Procurement (London or Amsterdam)

Overview

In questa role you drive the power strategy and utility engagement for Prologis data center development across Europe. You align grid access, project timelines, financial objectives, and sustainability priorities with development plans. You lead the end-to-end power procurement, interconnection, and contract negotiations, coordinating with internal teams and external energy partners to enable scalable data center projects. You will build relationships with utilities, regulators, and contractors while monitoring regulatory shifts to inform strategy and pipeline. Responsibilities

• Lead European utility and power procurement strategy for data center projects, aligning grid access, timelines, and sustainability with business goals
• Manage and negotiate the full power procurement and interconnection process, including feasibility, interconnection agreements, energy supply contracts, tariffs, and related utility/contractor agreements
• Coordinate utilities, EPCs, consultants, and Owner’s Engineers to deliver HV/MV power infrastructure and key agreements
• Evaluate development opportunities for grid power availability, fiber access, and onsite/temporary power options (e.g., fuel cells, gas turbines)
• Monitor EU/regulatory developments and assess impacts on projects and the pipeline in partnership with Government Affairs and Legal
• Build and maintain relationships with utilities, TSOs, regulators, power consultants, marketers, and vendors to ensure timely power delivery
• Support development, finance, legal, and marketing with financial modeling, utility strategy, and power input for leases and sales
• Assess acquisitions and land bank opportunities for data center development with respect to grid power and infrastructure readiness

Key requirements

• 7+ years of electric utility experience in transmission planning, substation development/engineering, distribution system planning, interconnection of large-load projects, or independent power producers
• Experience analyzing energy projects
• Experience negotiating interconnection agreements and related contracts with utilities and contractors
• Experience working on grid-connected projects in UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland, or the Nordics
• Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
