Overview

In this role you will promote AWS services to higher education in Scotland, engaging with university leaders and technical teams to expand adoption. You will own a territory plan, articulate AWS value, and drive customer outcomes in teaching, research, and operations. You’ll work with partners to extend reach and maintain a healthy pipeline, navigating multi-stakeholder procurement. This role offers the opportunity to shape cloud adoption at scale within HE and impact strategic institutional initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Promote AWS services in a defined territory or industry vertical
  • Develop and execute an account/territory plan
  • Create and articulate compelling value propositions for AWS services
  • Facilitate customer adoption
  • Maintain a robust projects pipeline
  • Collaborate with partners to extend reach and promote adoption
  • Contribute to a positive customer experience

Key requirements

  • Experience building strategic relationships with stakeholders across teams
  • Pipeline management experience, including Salesforce or other CRM tools
  • 3–5 years in account management, sales, or business development in Higher Education
  • Experience working with universities, colleges, or further education institutions
  • Track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder HE procurement cycles
  • Ability to navigate long, consensus-driven procurement with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience developing account plans aligned to institutional strategies (e.g., Teaching Excellence, Research Excellence Framework)
  • Ability to articulate technology value propositions in an academic context
