Assistant Project Manager

Overview

In this role you support the delivery of a portfolio of low-carbon residential developments across North London and Hertfordshire, working with the Senior Development Manager and leadership team. You will help manage programme performance, coordinate consultants, and oversee site delivery to maintain design, quality and sustainability objectives. You’ll handle planning, construction, and handover phases while mitigating risks and delivering progress for stakeholders. This is a client-side, proactive role that focuses on coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring on-time, compliant delivery. Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day activities between contractors, consultants, statutory authorities and development partners
• Monitor master programmes, milestones and risks related to programme, budget and sustainability
• Organise multidisciplinary design meetings, track actions and ensure timely information delivery
• Support projects through planning, construction, completion and customer handover
• Support the administration of JCT contracts, including payment applications, variations and cost reporting
• Work with commercial teams to monitor expenditure and potential cost risks
• Prepare progress reports and board-level updates for stakeholders
• Ensure architectural, structural and MEP designs meet quality and low-carbon standards
• Monitor sustainable construction measures including embodied carbon, circular economy performance and MMC
• Support planning condition discharges, Section 106 obligations, Building Safety Act requirements and utility connections
• Undertake regular site inspections for progress, quality, safety and design compliance
• Coordinate commissioning records, snagging, purchaser inspections and completion documentation
• Support transition of completed developments into customer care

Key requirements

• Previous experience in residential project management, Employer’s Agent practice, multidisciplinary consultancy or property development
• Understanding of JCT contracts, residential development lifecycles and construction procurement
• Exposure to sustainable building methods (embodied carbon, Passivhaus, timber construction or MMC)
• Confident coordinating consultants, contractors and technical meetings
• Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture or related discipline
• Progress towards APM, CIOB or RICS accreditation would be advantageous
• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel and digital reporting tools
• Organised, self-motivated and comfortable in a growing, entrepreneurial developer
