As an Assistant Director in Deloitte’s Government and Public Sector team, you will lead complex central and local government real estate and infrastructure projects, guiding cross‑functional teams to successful outcomes. You’ll engage senior stakeholders, shape strategic estate and facilities programs, and support business development across the public sector. The role blends advisory insight with governance and commercial accountability to deliver net-zero and value-for-money objectives. Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of complex government real estate and infrastructure projects, coordinating teams and ensuring successful outcomes
- Build and maintain relationships with senior government stakeholders
- Coach and mentor consultants to develop their careers
- Support bids and proposals to win work and raise the profile in the public sector
- Develop expertise across estate strategy, capital programmes, facilities management and infrastructure advisory
- Advise on Green Book business cases and funding strategies for major accommodation projects
- Assess options for HQ relocations or new workplaces and define requirements and delivery programmes
Key requirements
- Proven experience in real estate, infrastructure, capital projects or facilities management with government/public sector clients
- Project leadership experience with responsibility for delivering results
- Strong client relationships with senior government stakeholders
- People management experience with coaching and development
- Commercial acumen including budgets and timelines
- Technical knowledge of government processes (Green Book, Five Case Model), governance and assurance
- Analytical problem-solving and ability to develop actionable recommendations
- Excellent written and oral communication and stakeholder facilitation skills
- Business development experience and track record in winning work
- Willingness to travel and eligibility for UK security clearance (SC/DV)
- Desirable professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, MRICS, etc.) and related project management/stakeholder engagement experience
- Ability to travel as required
