Senior Cost Manager – Real Estate

Overview

As a Senior Cost Manager, you will own end-to-end cost management delivery for projects within the 10–50m range. You will lead and mentor a cost management team, ensuring accurate cost plans, tender analyses, and final accounts that meet client objectives. You’ll work closely with project teams, clients, and consultants to optimize value and track margin while applying our digital tools. This role offers impact across projects and supports our NewLeaf strategy and carbon-conscious initiatives. You will shape cost management practice through coaching, governance, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost management on commissions, including cost planning, tendering, and post-contract cost control
• Coach and assign roles to junior staff to ensure effective cost management
• Advise clients on feasibility studies, procurement options, and cost strategies
• Prepare and present cost plans, reports, and valuations; manage variations and change control
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and consultants; interface across project stages
• Lead a cost management team when required and utilize bespoke digital tools (The Hive, CostX, etc.)
• Contribute to value engineering, embodied carbon reporting, and NewLeaf strategy implementation
• Support business development and maintain professional networks; lead bid submissions
• Maintain internal processes, knowledge management, and staff mentorship; manage D365 projects
