Overview
In Accounting Policy within Controllers, you apply accounting standards and the firm’s policies to transactions and activities while monitoring emerging issues under IFRS and US GAAP. You collaborate across business units and corporate functions to ensure accurate disclosures in financial statements and SEC filings. You’ll work with regulators and external auditors, contributing to a strong control environment and high-quality reporting. This role offers exposure to diverse businesses and ongoing development under senior guidance, within a collaborative, control-focused culture. You will help shape policy for new products and complex transactions and support training across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical accounting guidance to business units and corporate functions
- Partner with business units on accounting implications and upcoming changes
- Assess new financial reporting developments and liaise with standard setters/regulators
- Advise on accounting policy for new products, restructurings, and complex transactions
- Research and document technical accounting issues under applicable standards
- Provide training on accounting developments and policies
- Support SEC financial reporting and LEC teams with disclosures
- Engage with external auditors on policy-related matters
- Contribute to accounting policy activities and policy compliance
Key requirements
- ACA/ACCA qualification with big 4 experience in financial services
- Solid knowledge of IFRS; US GAAP desirable
