Construction Project Manager, EMEA Construction

Overview

In this role you will lead construction management for new data centres and capital projects, shaping reliable and energy-efficient infrastructure. You will coordinate with general contractors, review designs, and manage scope, schedule and budgets to deliver high-quality turn-keys. You’ll drive risk mitigation, commissioning planning, and post-build turnover, ensuring safety and alignment with AWS standards. This role offers the opportunity to influence data center resiliency and cost efficiency at scale. You will work within a diverse, collaborative team that values bold ideas and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities for new builds and capital projects, owning scope, schedule, and budget
• Interface with general contractors through bidding, award, execution, and closeout
• Collaborate with contractors and vendors to deliver quality project handovers
• Lead bid evaluations and negotiations with general contractors
• Prepare construction scope and RFPs; manage capital requests and financial analysis
• Manage projects aimed at increasing data center resiliency
• Review electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centres
• Review submittals and ensure quality control; develop commissioning plan and support commissioning
• Record and report key construction metrics to team and management
• Drive troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for equipment or electrical failures
• Work on data centre sites across AWS infrastructure services
• Ensure safety and security standards in collaboration with cross-functional teams

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Electrical Engineering
• Vendor management experience
• Data center or critical environment experience
• Data center engineering or operations experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
