Senior Actuarial Analyst

Overview

In this role you will deliver actuarial insight across UK reserving, pricing, and portfolio management within a high-visibility team. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to influence underwriting and capital planning while supporting a diverse portfolio of lines. The position offers broad exposure across the UK market and opportunities to lead technical analyses that shape business decisions. Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational support to the product team for the Specialty and UK underwriting division
• Maintain relationships with UK underwriting teams with responsibilities in pricing, reserving, pricing tool validation, and capital model parameterisation
• Own core processes to produce deliverables for external purposes
• Support the wider Markel International Actuarial team

Key requirements

• Ability to engage senior stakeholders (Finance, Underwriting, Capital) and build effective relationships
• Team player who can prioritise workload and support the team as needed
• Proficiency across pricing and reserving topics
• Experience delivering analyses for portfolio management and presenting to senior management
• Experience in business planning and parameterisation of underwriting and reserve risk
• London office presence at least two days a week; willingness to travel to UK offices a few times per year
