Overview
In this role you drive London-focused transactional media engagement in collaboration with the Associate Director. You act as the day-to-day press contact for the firm’s transactional practices, focusing on financial services, M&A, private equity, private credit and capital markets. You identify and pitch media opportunities, build reporter relationships, and coordinate with external PR agencies to raise the firm’s market profile. You craft news angles, draft communications, and support media tracking and reporting to sustain high-quality coverage.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the daily press contact for transactional practices and coordinate with the Associate Director
- Identify media opportunities (comment pieces, bylines, case studies) across national, broadcast, trade and regional outlets
- Build and maintain relationships with target reporters and monitor editorial calendars
- Schedule media briefings and prepare partners for interviews, advising on press responses
- Generate story ideas and pitch to secure positive coverage
- Write press releases, articles, and communications with strong angles
- Maintain media contact lists and manage media databases
- Attend practice group meetings to align media opportunities with business plans
- Coordinate with external PR agencies to ensure cohesive EMEA PR activity
- Support PR admin processes: tracking, reporting, and conflict checks
- Other duties as assigned
Key requirements
- 3–5 years of PR/communications experience, including financial services media relations
- Significant UK media contacts in financial services and asset management
- Degree level education (emphasis on English, communications or similar)
- Experience with financial services, asset management, private equity or private credit sectors
- Understanding of the UK legal media landscape (preferred)
- Proficiency in MS Office and social media (e.g., LinkedIn)
- Ability to manage complex subjects with high attention to detail
