Lead Consultant – Property and Buildings

Overview

In this senior role, you will lead Major multi-disciplinary property and buildings projects, acting as the client’s main contact and coordinating a diverse consultant team from inception to completion. You’ll shape delivery through design leadership, risk and commercial management, and a standardized approach to Lead Consultant Services. This is a growth-focused position with a strong emphasis on collaboration, digital solutions, and delivering integrated, high-impact projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Client’s main point of contact and coordinate the wider consultant team through project lifecycle
• Lead design across multiple sectors with deep knowledge in at least one area
• Manage design programme and information flow across disciplines
• Maintain financial and commercial controls and identify project risks
• Apply working knowledge of NEC contracts and ensure statutory compliance (Building Regulations and CDM)
• Drive major projects and programmes to delivery, with a focus on collaboration across WSP and partners
• Develop and apply best practices for Lead Consultant Services on major projects
• Support development of skills in project, contract, schedule, and financial management
• Contribute to digital solutions initiatives and standardise Lead Consultant Services approaches
• Aim for high project utilisation and proactive pipeline management

Key requirements

• Architectural or engineering degree
• Membership of a relevant Professional Institution
• Experience leading complex multidisciplinary projects
• Working understanding of NEC contract management, client management and stakeholder management
• Ability to drive design and delivery for major projects
• Demonstrated collaborative behaviours, ethics, and commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing
• Eligible to achieve Security Clearance
