Overview
In this role you will manage credit relationships for corporate clients within GCIB Credit, delivering underwriting and credit structures aligned to the bank’s risk appetite. You will partner with cross‑functional teams to assess risk, structure transactions, and govern the portfolio while upholding rigorous controls. You’ll influence credit policy, support strategic projects, and coach junior teammates. This is a stakeholder‑facing role that blends analysis, negotiation, and risk management to drive Responsible Growth.

Responsibilities
- Perform financial and credit analysis and risk rating in line with policy for an assigned portfolio
- Independently assess credit worthiness via due diligence and define terms to mitigate risk
- Structure, underwrite and negotiate credit documentation and derivatives
- Maintain portfolio granularity with targets for exposure, commitments and asset quality
- Set internal risk ratings and adjust them through the client lifecycle
- Ensure portfolio reviews remain satisfactory to auditors, Credit Review and external Regulators
- Develop product knowledge and risk insights at client, industry and macro levels to craft value‑added solutions
- Foster internal relationships with Corporate bankers, Sales & Trading, Risk, Syndications and Legal
- Contribute to strategic projects and provide coaching to junior teammates
- Support ongoing credit risk governance and risk management processes
Key requirements
- Credit risk experience at a major international financial institution
- Knowledge of EMEA markets and industry sectors
- Understanding of broader risk environment and regulatory context
- BA/BSc degree (or equivalent); Finance, Accounting or Economics beneficial
- Solid product/technical knowledge across lending, trade finance and derivatives
- Change agent mindset with ability to influence policy and strategy
- Commercial mindset with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in Excel and ability to review/create financial models
- Strong organizational skills, prioritization under pressure, and transaction management
- Fluency in English; additional European language beneficial
