Overview

In this Senior Associate role, you will support the residential leasehold management team within Property Disputes to deliver high-quality, comprehensive advice across landlord and tenant matters. You will work with developers, insurers, and clients in public, private, and social housing sectors, handling complex disputes and strategic advisory work. The position emphasizes client relationships, business development, and mentoring junior fee-earners in a growing North-West market. You will shape outcomes on varied property disputes while contributing to the firm’s performance and Lexcel-compliant processes.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on a broad range of residential leasehold matters (service charge disputes, enfranchisement, Right to Manage)
  • Handle development-related disputes and strategic advice (rights to light) for developers and insurers
  • Manage property-related disputes including contracts, insolvency, rights of way, adverse possession, and covenants
  • Contribute to business development and relationship-building with clients and market intermediaries in the North-West
  • Delegate work to junior fee-earners and support their development
  • Ensure files comply with Lexcel procedures
  • Engage in department and firm-wide meetings, training, and events
  • Support firm-wide performance goals and cross-team collaboration

Key requirements

  • At least 5 years post-qualification experience or equivalent from a reputable firm
  • Experience of complex residential property disputes
  • Strong technical skills in property law
  • Ability to supervise junior team members
  • Drive, client focus, and commercial awareness
  • Ability to meet deadlines and communicate clearly (written and spoken)
