Senior Java Software Engineer

Overview

In this role you guide and hands-on lead a software engineering team on a live Central Government project. You will shape technical solutions, architectures and delivery across the full SDLC, collaborating with clients and cross-functional teams. You’ll build full-stack applications using Java, JavaScript, React and TypeScript, and deploy cloud-based solutions on AWS. Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers
• Design, develop and test bespoke software solutions
• Provide technical direction and stakeholder communication
• Produce solution architectures and technical designs
• Build full-stack apps using Java, JavaScript, React and TypeScript
• Design and deploy cloud-based solutions (AWS)
• Create CI pipelines (GitLab)
• Manage the full SDLC from requirements to maintenance
• Deploy to public and private clouds
• Promote high standards of software quality and security practices

Key requirements

• Strong commercial Java development experience
• Experience designing and building solutions in AWS
• Full-stack development with JavaScript, React and TypeScript
• Experience leading engineers or providing technical direction
• Understanding of software architecture and design
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle
• Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement skills
• Ability to translate customer challenges into practical technical solutions
