Financial Analyst – Corporate Finance (Oil & Gas)

Overview

In this London-based Financial Analyst role, you support Houlihan Lokey’s Oil & Gas advisory team by building and explaining financial models, performing due diligence, and preparing client materials. You work closely with senior professionals on complex transactions across M&A, financings, and valuation work, contributing to cross-border deals in a collegial, entrepreneurial environment. You help drive client solutions and growth for a leading global investment bank. This is an opportunities to develop deep industry expertise and client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze historical and projected financials
• Create sophisticated financial models
• Coordinate and perform business due diligence
• Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations and pitches
• Conduct research on sectors, companies and potential buyers
• Value companies and businesses
• Build relationships with clients, prospects and advisors
• Supervise and train junior staff
• Assist in planning engagements

Key requirements

• Strong Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Up to 1 year of full-time investment banking experience in M&A advisory
• Keen interest in Oil & Gas
• Demonstrable experience in executing sell-side transactions
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
• Strong analytical abilities and knowledge of accounting and financial theory
• Excellent understanding of financial statements analysis and valuation theory
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work cooperatively with team members and independently in a fast-paced environment
