Overview

In this role you will lead Proofpoint’s Public Sector enterprise sales for the UK, shaping growth in a fast‑growing security company. You’ll recruit and coach a high‑performing field team, drive bookings, and close new executive‑level deals with CISO/CIO/CTO stakeholders. You’ll present compelling business cases to senior leaders and set regional strategy to win in the public sector. Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high‑performing enterprise sales team
  • Achieve or exceed annual bookings quota and monthly/quarterly targets
  • Identify, grow, and close new business at executive levels (CISO/CIO/CTO) in Public Sector accounts (UK)
  • Present compelling business cases to senior stakeholders
  • Create regional momentum and execute strategic growth plans
  • Define and report on sales metrics, forecast deals, and analyze performance
  • Determine resource needs and identify profitable growth opportunities
  • Maintain client and partner relationships to scale the business
  • Support contract negotiations and resolve major sales objections
  • Collaborate with EMEA leadership to align value proposition and priorities
  • Recruit, coach, and inspire senior sales executives
  • Manage goal setting, performance reviews, and development in a solution‑selling environment
  • Coordinate with Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Marketing and Support to close deals and ensure customer satisfaction

Key requirements

  • Experience in hyper‑growth environments and scaling large teams in the Public Sector (Central and Regional)
  • Strong knowledge of the cyber security market and current threat landscape
  • Familiarity with consultative, value‑based sales methodologies (Force Management, Challenger Sales, MEDDIC)
  • Proven track record leading a successful new business sales team and delivering sustained growth
  • Channel‑centric go‑to‑market experience within direct and channel‑led sales organizations
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
  • Commercial acumen with strategic and tactical execution capability
  • Ability to build business plans, pipelines, forecast accurately and close deals
  • Existing influential customer relationships and ability to act as trusted advisor to CSO
