Overview
As Principal Product Manager for the AML Prevent Group, you shape the strategy to scale hyper-specific, regionally targeted money-laundering prevention globally. You work with data scientists, engineers and regional compliance to deliver efficient controls that meet regulatory standards while minimizing customer friction. You will drive metrics, mentor the team, and translate a bold vision into a practical roadmap. This role puts you at the center of Wise’s mission to fight financial crime at global scale.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the roadmap for the AML Prevent Group to curb hyper-specific regional crime at scale
- Set and mature success metrics in line with global regulatory obligations
- Mentor and collaborate with Senior/Associate Product Managers and cross-functional teammates
- Partner with regional compliance, data science, product analytics, design, operations and engineering to ship high-impact controls
- Balance regulatory requirements with business economics to minimize operational cost and customer friction
- Turn a broad vision into tangible building blocks and a clear definition of done
- Drive proactive crime prevention initiatives and contribute to global SAR-related workflows
- Travel to collaborate with teams in London, Tallinn and global partners when needed
Key requirements
- 6+ years of direct product management experience (ideally closer to 10)
- Customer-obsessed mindset with strong user research and empathy for regulators and law enforcement
- Direct experience building ML/LLM or other data-heavy products; domain experience in AML/fraud is a plus
- Ability to design algorithms and metrics; comfort with quantitative and qualitative data
- Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, analysts and researchers
- Hands-on, self-driven, comfortable with ambiguity and delivering results in novel initiatives
